2011-01-08 SOUTH GEORGIA, Hercules Bay

Hercules Bay, named after a Norweigen whale catcher, is a minature fjord just 500 metres across enclosed by towering cliffs. Elephant seals breed on the beach and king penguins moult.

Note the albino seal pup in the group.

The penguins all queue up and hop to safety above the swell line after feeding.

Kayaking has proved very popular.
