2011-01-14 ANTARCTICA, Neko Harbour, Arrival

This beautiful inlet, Neko Harbour, was named after the whale factory ship Neko that operated in the area in 1911-12 and 1923-24.

We walked up to the spectacular viewing point above the bay and enjoyed two wonderful experiences - witnessing a huge calving of the glacier and a luge run down to the beach (photos on a separate post)!
