The storm was abating but the swell was still 4 - 6 metres.
Jonathan Shackleton gave a lecture "Heroes or Humans? The Heroic Age Begins" which traced the serious polar exploration from Gerlache, Scott and Sir Earnest Shackleton.
Rob Suisted lectured on "Whales and Dolphins of the Southern Ocean".
In preparation for going ashore in Antarctica all the Residents and Guests had to attend the mandatory IAATO (International Association Antarctica Tour Operators) to cover the environmental and safety considerations required.
