2011-01-09 SOUTH GEORGIA, Shackleton Hike

We left Fortuna Bay for the strenuous 3 hour 6.5 Km / 4 mile hike across the 400m /1,300 ft. hill and rocky terrain to Stromness, retracing the last leg of Shackleton's epic journey.

We started our journey intermingling with the "locals" who were protective of their territory.

How cute is this seal pup!

On the windswept hill two seals are indifferent to the arrival of The World.

This is the route we took as recorded by Gary's watch and Google Earth!
